Not only is Pink a little bit pop and a little bit rock n’ roll, she’s a little bit country and a little bit folk as well. Hell, from what we’ve observed from past releases, she’s so versatile she’d probably be a dab hand at screamo as well. C’mon, you’d totally want to see that. I do.
Recording in secret months beforehand, P!nk has now joined forces with Canadian singer-songwriter City and Colour (aka Dallas Green) - lol, pink and green, huehuehue - to create You+Me. Via the City and Colour Facebook:
so…i’ve been keeping a huge secret and i’m ready to share it. A few months ago i headed off to California to meet up with my good friend Alecia, who you know as P!nk . i brought a guitar and a book with a few songs i’d been working on. I had no clue what would come of it, but was hoping for the best; the best being 1 song. Better than the best happened and after 2 weeks of just the two of us in the studio, we wrote and recorded a full album. I’m so proud of these songs and can’t wait for you to hear them.
its not City and Colour and its not P!nk - its You+Me.
And although many of you will probably tremble in fear at the thought (because pop can still be a dirty word, right?) it’s definitely a crossover worth paying attention to, the acoustic track gently soft and lilting in its delivery and with beautiful harmonies floating atop of one another. It’s like the audio equivalent to a nice summer breeze, if you’re into that kind of thing.
You+Me’s debut roseave will be released October 14.
